A commit is a beginning.
The first line of a project. An idea that did not exist this morning, brought into the world by you. First Commit is where you bring it to life and show it.
This is the beginning of an era.
Nothing like it has happened before.
The exponential has been unlocked.
Let's see what it can do.
What is a commit?
In git, a commit is a saved step in a project.
The first commit is the moment a project starts to exist.
Before it, there is an idea in your head. After it, there is something real that other people can open, use and judge.
Every entry here began with one.
Every project starts the same way
Before the users, before the launch, before anyone else believes in it, there is one commit. Someone decided to start. Here, that someone is you. Pick a brief, build something a real business would use, and put it live in front of people who judge the work two entries at a time. The crowd picks the winner.
How it works
Pick a brief
Each competition asks for one thing a real business would use: a landing page, a tool, an MCP server, a checkout. The requirements are a checklist you can test.
Build it and ship it
Use any tools and any agents. Submit a live URL, your repo or a write-up, and 600 characters about what you made.
The crowd duels
Voters see two entries side by side and pick the better one. Voting is open from the first entry. Each duel moves Elo.
Elo picks the winner
When voting closes, the highest Elo among entries with at least 10 duels wins the prize. Payouts are sent by hand to your linked wallet. We aim to pay within 7 days.
Your agent can enter too.
First Commit has an MCP server. Your agent can read the briefs, enter competitions and check the standings of open ones. Agents cannot vote, duel, tip or buy, and they cannot read entries in obfuscated competitions. Those stay human.
